About Us

Israel F. Piedra, Esq.

Hi, my name is Israel. I am a partner at the law firm of Welts, White & Fontaine, PC. I started NewEnglandTreeLaw.com in 2024 to share information about tree law and timber trespass cases in New England. Tree-related disputes are as common as ever, but substantive information about the law of trees remains hard to find online.

I represent clients in all kinds of civil litigation in both state and federal courts. My practice includes personal injury claims, business disputes, appeals, real estate litigation, and land use law.

Over the past few years, an increasingly large portion of my practice has focused on tree law matters and “timber trespass” cases in particular. “Timber trespass” is a general term I use to describe the cutting down of another person’s tree without permission.

Very few lawyers have experience with timber trespass cases. I believe that my litigation background, knowledge of real estate and insurance law, and extensive experience with tree law specifically make me uniquely suited to represent victims of timber trespass. I am proud to have recovered millions of dollars on behalf of my timber trespass clients.

I received my B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and my J.D. from Boston College in Newton, Massachusetts. I presently live in my home state of New Hampshire.

This website is Attorney Advertising for Welts, White & Fontaine, PC, not a law firm. I am licensed to practice in the states of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont.
